Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is one of the longest running shows on the history of Indian television industry.
Actress Kanchi Singh essayed the play the role of Gayu in the show and won many hearts.
However she planned to leave the show midway as she wanted to try her luck in movies.
The pandemic delayed things, but now it’s all falling into place and Kanchi is looking forward to her Bollywood debut.
She says, “I am excited about my Bollywood debut. I have been working hard for that. The film shoot will take place in Canada. I will star opposite actor Adhyayan Suman. I have also done an OTT show and I think this is a great phase for actors with different mediums opening up.”
Kanchi faced many rejections
But the journey hasn’t been easy, she shares. “Quitting Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai for films was a risk that I took. It was tough, I faced rejections but I was determined to pursue it. Now that I have finally got it, I feel relieved and happy. My parents have supported me through it all.”
